Assistant Professor
Farah is now working as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Health Economics, University of Dhaka. She joined the University of Dhaka as a Lecturer in 2013. Earlier she worked as a research associate at the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM) immediately after completing her Masters from the Department of Economics, University of Dhaka (2012). She passed HSC from Motijheel Ideal School & College and SSC from Kamrunnessa Govt. Girls’ High School, Dhaka. Farah was awarded the Chevening Scholarship for Merit and Leadership by the Foreign and Commonwealth Offices, United Kingdom, and completed her MSc in Economics from the University of Manchester in 2017. Concurrently, she has continually worked in research projects for the World Bank, UNICEF, WHO, DFID, GIZ, IZA (ILO), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) along with the health ministry and planning commission of the government of Bangladesh both as a student and as an academician.

Methodological and applied research using econometric and statistical tools in the field of economics and health economics, equity and efficiency assessments in health service delivery, economic and statistical evaluation of observational and retrospective data sets, policy impact evaluation using cutting-edge techniques.
Decomposition analysis using Concentration Indices, measurement of income-related health inequality, program evaluation using randomized control trials, health financing (especially marginal budgeting for bottlenecks), need-based local level planning and policy formulation in the health sector.
