Research Student

20 years of experience in social and public health research and development. Currently enrolled as PhD student in the Health Economics Institute of the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and Department of Public Health in the University of Copenhagen, Denmark as part of Joint Degree PhD program. Around 16 years (since 2005) of research experience in the Program of Emerging Infection (PEI), Infectious Diseases Division (IDD) at icddr,b. The research experience is on public health epidemiological research in the arena of cultural epidemiology using mixed method and anthropological approach including exploratory and policy research, economic burden studies and community intervention to prevent emerging infectious diseases (Nipah, Avian influenza, Covid-19) including waterborne diseases (Hepatitis E, Diarrhea and Cholera) in Bangladesh. Developed and established qualitative/anthropological methodological approach and components to conduct outbreak investigations of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases in Bangladesh.
