Lecturer
Refaya Rashmin has been a Lecturer at the Institute of Health Economics, University of Dhaka since November 2016. She is a Commonwealth Scholarship Alumni (2018-19) that was awarded for an MSc in Economics for Development (Merit) degree from Queen Elizabeth House, University of Oxford. Previously, she completed a Master and Bachelor (hons.) degrees in Economics from University of Dhaka. Currently she is a candidate in PhD Economics at the Centre for Health Economics in University of York, UK. Her research is focused on economic evaluation of healthcare interventions by means of estimating opportunity cost of health policies. In her early career, she worked as a research associate at the Centre for Policy Dialogue, Dhaka and her research was focused on international financial flows for development among Southern countries. Gradually her research interest is aligned with empirical work on evaluating the effectiveness of overseas or local funds on healthcare and social development interventions. Apart from that Refaya is passionate about travelling and debating. She holds a Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award and several accolades in Model United Nations conferences, international inter-varsity debating tournaments and volunteering works.
