Sharmeen Mobin Bhuiyan, PhD

Professor and Director

Sharmeen Mobin Bhuiyan, currently a Professor in the Institute of Health Economics, University of Dhaka, joined the institute in December 2002 as a Lecturer. She completed her PhD in Health Economics and the title of her PhD is “Level and Determinants of Economic Efficiency in Primary Public Health Care Facilities: A Study in Selected Areas of Bangladesh”. Field data collection of the PhD study was funded by USAID’s Next Generation of Public Health Experts Project (NGPHEP) through James P. Grant School of Public Health (JPGSPH) of BRAC Institute of Global Health (BIGH) of BRAC University. Her research interest includes efficiency, health care financing and health care costing. She has a good number of publications published in different journals. She has experience in working with government, local and donor agencies.
